Online church shopping

Doesn't that sound horrible! With almost all churches having websites it has been nice to "check out" churches online. While it doesn't give one the feel of the actual church or what the people are like it does help narrow down the list of where to go.

Since we've moved here I've spent some time listening to sermons online to get a sense of the speaking style in a church. More often than not this has seemed to discourage our attendance at a church. But with only having one day a week to try out a church I feel like we have to make the most of our Sundays.

The last two weeks we have attended a church called Vineland MB, which has been pretty good. It's about 25 minutes away, which could be an issue in winter. It also seems that a lot of the churches that we have went to have a smaller population of people in our age demographic. We are trying to be patient and open to the church that God has in store for us. So for now we will continue to try a few more. Please continue to pray for us as we look for a church family to be a part of.

I think it's great that technology allows for people to search for a church in this way. Although you can't always get a true picture of a church just by their website. Our church isn't that big which means we don't exactly have alot of money to spend on a fancy website. I think that someone who looked at our website and then came to our church would be surprised by what they'd find.
