Christmas with the Saysomsacks

For dinner on Christmas Day we braved all the snow and headed out to Surrey to spend some time with David's family and close family friends. Christmas dinner consisted of tons of turkey, the best garlic mashed potatoes ever, cranberry sauce, lettuce wraps, spring rolls, deep fried yams and bananas, etc. I loved the cultural mix of traditional Christmas dinner.

Sarah and GrandmaAt every Christmas/ Chinese New Years celebration "uncle" has a special "game" which is really just his way of giving out some extra money. The "games" are always interesting and often add a certain amount of humiliation. This year was no different. Often played at Chinese weddings, is the potato game (also has other names). You have a string attached to your waist with a potato hanging on the end of it. The object of the game a second potato over a line with your own attached potato. This takes precision and a good amount of thrusting...you get the idea.

I am enjoying having Rebecca (my soon to be sister in law), at family events.

David gearing up to go.

Jenny and her husband. They just got married at the end of August. I met Jenny when David and I were just dating. She has always been someone that I have enjoyed talking to, so it was great to see her and hear all about their wedding and see the photos.
