Happy Canada Day!

This morning we went to Fort George to enjoy the Canada day celebrations. It was the perfect place to take a toddler, lots of wide open space and nothing breakable. The fort is free on Canada day and has different events happening in conjunction with NOTL.
Watching the musket firing.

At the blacksmith shop

Walking along the hill by the wall.

Grinding the spices for cookes.
The sleeping quarters. We thought it was funny that there were double bunk beds for the married folks. These were right next to the regular single bunk beds. Must have been good times.

Hi Sheri,

Our family loved Fort George too. Noise and guns are great fun for boys! Another super place (but a distance away from you) was in Kingston where they had a lot of students enacting a mock battle in summer with lots of antique muskets and a goat mascot. I remember we took the train there.
