Going to the Pumpkin Patch with Sarah's Class

My mom baby-sat Calvin and Lauren and let me have a special time just with Sarah (and her class) at the pumpkin patch. The weather wasn't great, but we enjoyed it anyways.

Experimenting with Light Sources

I've been having fun with the kids while using light differently in my photos.  They love getting to stay up a little later for photo fun in the evening.  Since David's been working late a lot, it's been nice to have something fun to do with them in the last half hour before bedtime.

 

Lauren in the Leaves

We were all playing in the cul de sac this afternoon. One of our neighbours has a huge tree that drops a ton of leaves each fall, so I thought I would sit Lauren down and get a few photos.  In the below shot she's making sounds with her lips.  She's always doing that, glad I got it with the camera.

Lauren discovered the joy of ride on toys today. She was LOVING it!  Either sitting on the cars or pushing them around the cul de sac.  Super cute!

Shadow Play

I've been taking an online photography workshop about using light indoors.  It's really helped me see light differently as well as my home as a great place full of photo opportunities.  Seriously loving photography these days!

Swinging

I was trying to get a good silhouette at the park this evening however the sky was pretty dark and I made the mistake of not putting a darker shirt on Sarah. Oh well, I learned a few things.  Still like the pic even though I know how it could be better.

Pumpkin Patch on Thanksgiving

David had to work all day on Thanksgiving Sunday so it was just me and the kids at home.  We had our family get togther on Saturday already so thankfully he didn't miss that.  I took the kids to church in the morning and then decided to take them to a local pumpkin patch after nap time.  We were the only ones at the patch and had a great time picking out our pumpkins and checking out all the animals.

 

 

Calvin was in rough shape at this point. He fell and hit his eye area on the step to get onto the hay wagon before we were even getting onto the hay wagon. Poor little guy.

Me and my kiddos. So thankful for these three, just wish David was there to join us.

Cranberry Festival

My mom joined us for the Fort Langley Cranberry Festival. We used to go before we moved to Ontario and were looking forward to it once again. For some reason we just love community fairs!  Anyways, the weather was amazing and there were tons of people.  Didn't take many pics, but thought I should post a couple.

Photo Walk at Tynehead

We came across this great little archway over a path at Tynehead park on one of our photo adventures.  I loved the way the light was shining through the trees, so magical!

I've been trying to get in more photos with the kids these days. Since David's been working  A LOT, I've been getting creative on how to do this. I actually handed the camera off and Calvin took the above shot. Even though our heads are cut, I still like this shot.

We took the walking bridge over the freeway to get to the park. The kids LOVED this!  Must do it again sometime soon.

Family Trip to Home Depot

Motherhood

I took some photos of my lovely friend Rachelle and her little girl Lenora.  I don't think that moms have nearly enough pics of them with their children.  Anyways, I wanted to practice using back lighting (when the sun is low and shining into the lens) and thought it would be a great opportunity to capture some moments of Rachelle and Lenora.  I was thrilled with how they turned out and have become a little addicted to the dreamy beauty of backlighting.

 

 

Into Everything

Lauren is into everything these days!  She loves pulling things out of the cupboards and making a big mess in kitchen. Who needs toys when there's tea towels, tupperware, pot lids, etc.
